I hereby open nominations for the top ten MRJ bugs. Anyone will a bug to report, please send a short bug report to

mrjbugs@acmerocket.com

The email should contain the following information:

• Title - 15 words or less
• Severity - How bad/how reproducible the bug is.
• Description - Any details you have about the bug itself.
• Work around - Any info you have about working around the bug.

I will take nominations until sometime Saturday night. On Sunday morning, I will post a summary listing of the bugs to the list. Bugs will be listed buy the number of people that reported the same/similar bug.

Everyone interested will be able to vote for 3 bugs to be in the top ten list. I will take votes until 6pm EDT Monday. By 8pm EDT (5pm PDT), I will post a second summary with the bugs ranked by the total number of votes each bug got.

I will also try to get a bug-voting page on-line, but I can't guarantee anything.

Is this acceptable? Does anyone else have any feedback about how to run this? Does anyone else want to run it?

I would like to request your assistance in building a 'Top Ten bugs list' from the MRJ developer community.

Would someone be willing to be the point person to collect nominations for this list and then handle the process of getting a vote on the Top Ten MRJ bugs?

I would like to have this list, so that I can take it into Apple and clearly communicate the bugs that are hurting our developers the most.

I want a report on bugs, but not feature enhancements. For example lack of Swing support - given the version of MRJ we are on - would not be a bug. Improper graphics updates would be a bug. Performance isn't a bug - in this case, but a thread lockup would be a bug.

Any volunteers?

PS. I would like to get this in place by end of business Monday. Know that is fast, but if someone is willing to drive the nomination process over the next two days, post a ballot, and then take votes and send the results to me by end of business Monday, I would really appreciate it.
